Some people enjoy the arduous journey to achieving a glorious, Instagram-worthy mane. Others prefer a shorter, less rigid regimen because they either don’t want to be bothered with yetanotherdetailed routine – or they have better things to do with their free time. Like watchingBob’s Burgersor cuddling with their pup. If the second scenario sounds more like you, then you’re in luck. Turns out your hair care routine doesn’t need to take up a full hour. In fact, pro hairstylist Brittany Jones’s (@brittanyjoneshairon Instagram) routine is so low-maintenance, you’ll want to adopt it yourself.
A Hairstylist’s Hair Care Routine
No one knows hair quite like a seasoned hairstylist. Jones is an award-winning, Denver-based hairstylist atFox and Jane, the salon she’s co-owned for the past five years.
When it comes to washing her hair …
“Honestly, I wash my hair about two, maybe three times a week,” she tellsLively. “When I do shampoo my hair, I switch off between a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and a repairing shampoo and conditioner. Moisturizing because I live in a dry climate and everyone needs moisture! And repairing because my hair is color-treated.”

When it comes to styling …
“I like to start my week with a more ‘clean’ and sleek look and get a little messier, undone, bedhead as the week goes on. Sometimes the week ends with a messy pony or bun.”
When it comes to dry shampoo …
“I love dry shampoo. My favorite isEvo’s Water Killer. They have a dry shampoo for brunettes as well!”

Her advice for avoiding hair breakage …
“To prevent breakage, heat-style your hair the least amount possible and when you do heat-style, make sure to use a heat protectant. Make sure to use quality products that fit your hair type and especially if you have color-treated hair, do quality treatments!”
When it comes to her favorite weekly color-treated hair treatment …
“My favorite treatment on the market right now is theNano Complex Rejuvenating Hair Treatment. When a lot of treatments just sit on top of your cuticle, creating a superficial fix, the Nano Complex can go into the cortex of the hair and repair it. It is by far the best treatment on the market right now.”
