Ultimately, we all want to be successful and happy. But this looks different for every person. Whether you are feeling stuck with where you are in life, in a job or in a relationship, we're rounding up advice to help curb the feeling and get you on your way to feeling motivated and empowered again.
Take a look below for 6 uplifting tips to get you there.
How To Stop Feeling Stuck
1. Consider Your Passions
Heighten your awareness to what you like and what you don’t like. What resonates with you? Maybe that's getting out for a run or putting your photography skills to use with your camera. Pay attention to that and try to incorporate more of that into your everyday life. Then consider, what doesn’t sit well with you? Identify what affects you negatively and try to give less energy to those things. Each day, we should be doing things that light us up inside. If we are not doing enough of that, and instead of doing things that drain us, we are bound to become unhappy and feel stuck in life.
2. Spark Positivity
Often times, when something isn’t right within ourselves, we can be critical of others. Make sure that your feeling of being stuck doesn’t start to affect your relationships and be sure to keep your thoughts positive. Make sure to not criticize other people’s lives or lifestyles because they are different than your own. If those feelings of criticism arise, take a step back, evaluate why they are coming up in the first place, then let them go. There is no need to hold onto toxic judgments and keep in mind that no flattery is better than fake flattery.
3. Reflect & Grow
If you are not growing, that could contribute to feeling stuck. How can you challenge yourself in a new way? What are some things that make you extremely uncomfortable? It could be as simple as trying a new recipe, trying a dialed-up pose in yoga or attending a networking event after work.
Reflecting on your growth is just as important. Evaluate where you were a year ago. Looking back, what are some things that you would have said to yourself to keep you motivated to change? Now, think of yourself a year from now. What are some things you need to hear from your future self, right now?
4. Create an Action Plan
Think of your goal then create an action plan to make it happen. This could be as structured as putting together a bullet journal, or as simple as talking through your dreams with a trusted companion. This creates a picture in your head and can keep you motivated to move forward. Stick to your word, commit to yourself and follow the steps you identified to make it happen.
5. Take Care of Yourself
Taking care of yourself is most important. Start saying yes to you. This could start with whipping up a nutritious collagen smoothie, adopting a new beauty routine or eating healthy. Self-care looks different for everyone, so choose something that feels meaningful to you!

6. Give Yourself Grace
Finally, acknowledge that it’s okay to not know what you want to do with your life. It’s okay to not have everything figured out. Know that not everyone makes it on their first try, and behind every success story is a journey of how they got there. Try not to make comparisons. In these instances, we can be very hard on ourselves, but be forgiving and have compassion for where you are in your life currently. Know that every step in your life served a purpose and got you to where you are today.
