Welcome to The Vital Life, where we spotlight Vital Proteins employees. This week, sales operations coordinator Tina Cid gives us a peek inside her day.
Adulting is still a work in progress! My alarm usually goes off between 5:30 A.M. and 6:00 A.M., with many snoozes in between (I’ll take any extra, precious minute of sleep I can). I’ve never really been a morning person but have been trying to create better habits of waking up earlier in order to increase productivity. In order to do this, I make sure to prep for the week/night ahead and have my bags, meals, and clothes all set and ready; this has helped me feel more relaxed when I wake up and ready to take on the day!
As I drive to my morning workout class, I’m guilty of rolling down my windows and blasting my cardio playlist to get me motivated – I currently have Lizzo on repeat. I love to switch up my workouts each day and base it off my mood and how my body is feeling. Some of my favorites include The Barre Code, Crosstown Fitness, Solidcore, Shred415, & Barry’s Bootcamp. I am a current ambassador of ASweatLife, which is a community group of fitness enthusiasts around the Chicagoland area and the U.S. Each month there is a “Studio of the Month” to try out a new workout studio. It also provides us the opportunity to meet and network with other fellow ambassadors/trainers.

Once I get to the office, I look forward to a well-deserved breakfast including a post-workout smoothie – almond milk, half banana, spinach, frozen cauliflower (for thickness), Vital Proteins Collagen Sports Greens, fiber, maca powder, powdered peanut butter, lots of cinnamon, and a few drops of peppermint oil. The peppermint and cocoa from the Sports Greens together tastes like a thin mint! With this and an XL cup of coffee, I check my daily horoscope then proceed to dive right into work emails. On the Sales Operations team, I help coordinate purchase orders for our larger wholesale accounts with our Sales and Warehouse teams. Our goal is to ensure these shipments arrive to the distribution centers/retail stores – this includesTarget, Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods, and Costco–successfully for VP products to be on the shelves for customers to purchase. I’ve recently hit my two-year anniversary at Vital Proteins and feel very fortunate to be a part of such a hard-working, supportive team as the brand continues to grow.
When I get home in the evening, I have one of my meal-prepped dinners and try to read a chapter of my National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Essentials of Personal Training Fitness Book (preferably outside, if the Chicago weather cooperates). I’m currently studying for the NASM exam for my personal training certification. It’s been one of my top goals on my bucket list!
Once my roommate gets home, we catch up on each other’s day and make sure to have a Vital Proteins Collagen Shot together (our favorite is Defense!) before bedtime – we always say a cheers for good vibes for the days ahead.
