Your Fall Just Got Tastier Thanks To This Apple Strudel Recipe

Growing up, I would almost always have a crispy Apple Strudel topped with vanilla icing for breakfast. The warm pastry never failed in emitting a beautiful fall aroma at home, making me want to immediately find a blanket and curl up near a fire. The epitome of coziness in every bite.

And since we’ve officially welcomed fall, I felt it was the ideal time to slip on an oversized sweater and whip up a batch of homemade Apple Strudels, which can be complemented with a cup of hot tea or coffee.

Our Apple Strudel recipe yields more than a handful of warm, soft pastries that house a sweet fall-forward cinnamon-apple filling. Looking to pair them with something so good you’ll be grabbing seconds before you’re even done eating your first serving? Use coconut butter icing or vanilla ice cream as toppings. FYI: The latter is the best option when your baking creation is fresh out of the oven.

Apple Strudel Recipe

Yields 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 1 C apples (peeled, cored & cubed)
  • 1 T maple syrup
  • 1 T cinnamon
  • 2 scoops Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
  • 2 T egg whites
  • 2 T coconut butter (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400˚F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut puff pastry into rectangular strips that are 3 inches wide and 6 inches long. Put off to the side.
  3. Prepare the filling by peeling, coring and cubing the apples into small apple chunks. Add the apples to a small bowl and mix in the maple syrup, cinnamon and Collagen Peptides.
  4. Add 1-2 tablespoons of the apple filling in the center of each pastry strip (only fill half). Use the other half of the pastry strips to apply on top and bind the pastry together by using a fork to pinch the edges.
  5. Use a brush and gently apply egg whites on top of the strudel. Using a knife, make three small cuts on top to release steam from the strudel.
  6. Bake the strudels for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and enjoy!
