Winter is in full swing and we are welcoming the cold-weather season with all the warm and cozy treats – starting with these Matcha Hot Chocolate Bombs! Each of these little spheres create a heavenly cup of matcha, white chocolate style.
Curious what makes this adorable treat the bomb? (Yes, we went there.) Each collagen creation contains 2 scoops of Vital Proteins® Vanilla Matcha Collagen Latte™ supplement ($29; shop now on vitalproteins.com), white chocolate, coconut oil and marshmallows. They're made using three simple tools: a sphere mold, a small plate and spoon. All that's left to do once you whip them up? Adding your Matcha Hot Chocolate Bombs to your favorite mug and following it up with hot milk. Creamy decadence is a sip away!
Matcha Hot Chocolate Bombs
Yields 3 Matcha Hot Chocolate Bombs
Shell Ingredients:
- ½ C white chocolate
- ½ t coconut oil
- 1 scoop Vital Proteins Vanilla Matcha Collagen Latte™ supplement
Filling Ingredients:
- 1 scoop Vital Proteins Vanilla Matcha Collagen Latte™ supplement
- Mini marshmallows
Topping:
- 3 T white chocolate
Directions:
- Melt the white chocolate in a small bowl or on the stovetop, adding the coconut oil in halfway. If using a microwave, we recommend melting in 20 second increments and stirring in between.
- Once melted, add ½ scoop of collagen to the chocolate. Stir until smooth.
- Use a spoon to fill each mold with the white chocolate mixture. Tip: Use the back of the spoon to ensure all parts of the mold are covered.
- Freeze the mold for 30 minutes. Tip: If the edges of the mold are thin after frozen, simply add another layer of white chocolate around the walls of the mold.
- Prepare your working station with all filling ingredients, as well as a hot plate. Tip: Simply microwave an empty plate for one minute.
- Pop the shells out of the mold and fill half with the Vanilla Matcha Collagen Latte™ supplement and marshmallows.
- One by one, place the other three shells rim-side down on the hot plate for three seconds or until it slightly melts. Lift the shell off the plate and place it on top of a latte-filled mold. Repeat three times.
- Drizzle additional white chocolate on top of each mold and store in the freezer.
- Add the Matcha Hot Chocolate Bomb in a mug and pour hot milk of your choice over it. Enjoy!
